Embellishments
Fringing, tufting, tassels and feathers – you name it, it’s here for this season and you’ll see it on cushions, wall hangings, throws, rugs and other accessories. This trend will add a wonderful handmade quality to every room.
Ice Cream Colours
Gelato colours are going to be a huge trend this summer. Choosing your favourite flavour of ice cream can be a bit like choosing your favourite paint colour, so why only choose one, when you can have them all, in a perfect palette of ice cream colours! Yum!
Geometrics
Although we saw Geometric patterns last year, its all about tiles, wallpaper and art this year! Bold, striking and colourful designs are being used on feature walls right across the country as I type!
Foliage
With more and more news of health benefits, the humble houseplant is fast becoming the must-have buy for our homes. And it seems you can never have too many, so pop down to your local garden centre and invest in some stunning plants.
Indigo Blue
As an antidote to the pastel tones, another colour trend is inky blues. If painting a whole room in one of these shades seems daunting, then simply accessorise instead with vases and flowers. Pick different shapes and sizes in a mixture of styles.
Ombre
This trend has been around a while. Watercolour ombre is a trend favourite with most homeowners choosing to paint the walls of their home themselves! Not brave enough – there are plenty of wallpaper options!
Glittery Gold
Metallics, copper, brass and rose gold have all been big for the last 12 moths but now its all about adding glitz to your golds! Softer than silver, gold brings its own elegance together with a sense of opulence. You’ll see gold detailing like door knobs and handles, gold lamp bases and picture frames everywhere!
Colour Pops
As it states – by adding random (strategically placed) pops of colour you can create depth and intrigue into anyroom!
This is the strongest trend coming through this summer with designers and homeowners being able to tailor this trend to their own unique style and colour themes – it works right through the home too!
Pops of colour doesn’t have to mean vivid, fluorescent shades – maybe a dusting of pastel shades in an otherwise white room?
Tropical
Is everywhere! From cushions rugs, tiles and glassware!
Punchy bright colours teamed with gold are the key to this happy trend. It will work both inside and out. Tropical leaf prints and bright animals are the way forward!
